Hey-Gotta quick question>>What should I do?? I got this letter from equifax--saying they can't verify the information I provided to them to send me a credit report. I gave them my addres and name and verified ssn!! What else do they need Here's the letter "Dear Consumer, We received you request concerning your equifax credit file and are looking forward to assisting you. The indentifying info. you provided doesn't match the info currently on the equifax credit file. A copy of one item in each of teh categories below is need in order to verify your identification and address. Please resubmit your dispute, the requested info, and this letter to the address above." ------------------------------------------------------------ They want a copy of my ss card, pay stub with ssn, or w2 form (identification purposes) They also want a copy of drivers licence, or rental/house agreement, pay stub with address, or utility bill or notarized statement verify address (address verification) ------------------------------------------------------------ Should I send them this stuff--WHen I gave them my info to order cr. over phone,they pulled up my credit report because I disputed the addresses they had. Didn't they already verify my identity and address????
I wouldn't send them any employment or tax info unless you want that included on your credit report. You may want to send them a letter signed by a public notary certifying your identity. It would be pretty hard for them to dispute that its not you requesting the info.
If you want to be an A**H*** you could ask them to PROVE YOU ARE NOT WHO YOU SAY YOU ARE. Be VERY CAREFUL what you send them...
