I paid First usa but the check didn't get credited . I sent them a copy of the front of the cancelled check . Instead of crediting the payment they wrote back asking for a copy of the back of the check. The front of the check has their name and the banks cancelation on it so why would they need a copy of the back of the check????????
There are codes on the back of the check...it MAY have been credited to somebody else's account... They can get the RECEIPT date off the check also...so you get credit retroactive...
They lose the late fees and interest... It is NOT like a charge where they can give you a TEMPORARY CREDIT...
The automatic processing machines... (I THOUGHT I SENT THIS ALREADY...ANOTHER LOST IN CYBERSPACE POST)
It wasn't a failure of me paying. It was their failure to credit so there aren't any late fees or finance fees due or owed!
But George it ain't nearly as bad as the bottomless pit of the U S postal service. I get the willies every time I drop something into one of those collection boxes wondering if any one will ever see it again.I don't think them things have any bottoms in them! I have 3 payments lost in the mail right now. One to visa one to master card one to the phone company -----------They must be in the pit!
5 years ago I sent a $4000 cashier's check from my bank to First USA to pay off the balance. They received my billing statement but not my cashier's check that was in the same envelope!! They blamed the sorting machines. My bank said it had been cashed. First USA claimed they didn't know where it was. I told them I would sue them for fraud and stealing since someone from their office cashed my check and didn't apply it towards my account. My bank issued copies of front and back with the endorsement used to cash the check. Within a month the check magically credited my account to close it out. No explanations given.
A better term for them would be payment destroyer, fee generator , Fico score lower, interest rising contraption. They don't need to know where it is.They know you paid it, & they got it. That's enough!
Wrong = they got both the bill and the check. Your job is to send the payment which you did. Their job is to credit the payment not make excuses.
