I've successfully pulled my Equifax report using myfico.com before , however when I try to do it straight thru equifax.com I got a "we cannot verify your identity online" error message. Last night I Got a "Great we've found your file!" than you have to select the answer to the security question mine being "which mortage company did you start a mortage with in '99." Well beings that I've never had a mortage I selected "Does not apply." Than I received the same 'ol were unable to verify your identity online info again. Whats the deal here I wonder ? Im thinking about trying myfico and see if that'll work. Than when trying to check it with experian I always get some type of error , bunch of letters and numbers. They charge my card than credit it a couple of days later. Transunion always says it cannot find a file for me...Very strange...
I think you should order your report by mail and find out what personal information is incorrect. Once it's corrected you should be able to pull your report online.
How do I get a copy by mail ? Also I know that equifax has my birthday listed at 1983 when it is infact 1984, I noticed that on the report I got from myfico.com. Also could you tell me how I could about changing that ? Thanks !
You need to write them letter requesting your credit profile. You must include your current address, copy of your social security card, copy of your driver license and check for $9.00. Once you receive it by mail just call them on the phone and they will correct your personal information immediatelly.
this has happened to me before and I was able to resolve it by calling the contact number they give you on the web site for problems accessing reports. they skipped the verification process basically because I called and verified. I do not have the number, my apologies
Thanks for the help! I'll be making copes and writing letters tonight for sure ! Im going to check online and verify the price is $9 for equifax, transunion, and Experian; hopefully I'll be able to find that information.
The fee depends on state where you live. I said $9.00 because I pay so much. You may be eligible for free credit profile. Just check their website or call them to find out what the fee is for you.
Just a small FYI, you may quailfy, depending on the state of residency to free copies<1 per year> as deemed by law in your state. I know the state of georgia allows this so it may be worth your while to research your state. Just a thought to save some money. you can even ask them over the phone which states allow this...
I checked online for Equifax and its $9. It doesnt say anything about including a copy of your license or social security card though. ??? When requesting a consumer file disclosure by mail, be sure to include your full name, address, Social Security number and most recent former address for file matching purposes. Also include a personal check made payable to Equifax Credit Information Services, Inc., if applicable, as indicated by the applicable state rate above.
Their site also listed a 800# to order your file from, I just tried that. I figured It'd be quick than mail and I could just use my visa. Well I punched in my year of birth (83) since thats whats listed in my file, social security #, and my numerical street address. Than it told me "Great! Your file will be sent within 48 hours via first class mail." I Thought I was going to have to pay $9 for it. Ah now im even more confushed , LOL ...
I am confused too. How can you order it by phone but not online ??? Call online service to find out...
I have no idea, and I didn't even have to pay for it. whats up with that ? Not complaing if thats the case by any means, just wondering why. We'll see if I actually receive it. will keep this updated...
I think it's been close to but not yet 60 days since I applied for the Walmart Store card and was denied. But I cannot remember if they pulled Equifax or not....

We'll see what equifax sends about my report.
