I have some SCAN unpaid checks, anyone got a letter or have any advice on disputing?

3 or 4 checks my EX wrote on my account. I'd like to brute force "not-mine" on those.

Please help i'm getting tired of getting chex denials.

    Sam,

You know you can get a copy of your Chex report and dispute that just like you would any CRA. That would clear you on Chexs. As far as clearing you off of SCAN...I would consider biting the bullet and pay them. The will allow you to write checks again if you pay them.

Besides...I know you have a debit card (don't you?) and with all the credit you have, what are you doing writing a check at a story anyway??? I'm afraid to write a check at ANY store. One reason being because a long time ago someone stole my checkbook and wrote some bunk checks. I was on SCAN for a minute but got it cleared up (showed them a police report) but now if I write a check at a place who uses SCAN, my check and DL# will automatically prompt them to manually call. Then I have to give them my mother's maiden name so that they can give the teller manual approval. It's way too much of a hassle. It's just easier to whip out a card.

    SCAN & Chex`

Hey you guys..Chex owns SCAN. When you get your report...http://www.chexhelp.com, watch the SCAN stuff come up with the same address as CHex for more info. Just dispute it. It appears that banks don't seem to have a system in place for verifying and researching these accounts.

How can they tell me that I can't write a check from my own checking account?
Why should I have to pay some outfit a fee for every check I want to write?

You can write a check from your own checking account as you please. Weather they accept the check or not is a different story.

Nono I could give a rats-ass about writing checks. I want a local branch account. Anyone got a dispute letter for me to use with chex? There's about 5-6 items i want them to verify or remove.

Sam, I would second what mp$40 suggests. I had items both on SCAN and Chex. If you don't care about paying the checks, then SCAN will maintain that record.. which means that you will never be able to write checks @ a grocery store, etc. type place again with that same bank account and/or same drivers license.

As for Chexsystems, make sure you get a copy of that and dispute items on there. I found out they track listings via drivers license.. so if chex doesn't know your DL, then they can't link retail info to your chex report. So dispute dispute dispute the chex record to clear the items..

As for CA's, if it's past the SOL, there's no benefit in paying it unless it is guaranteed removal from SCAN.

I paid all the minor things even tho i didn't know what it was.. came out to be less than $100 and disputed everything on my chex and have gotten all that cleared up... what is important is what is on your chex report cuz that determines if you can open checking accounts or not.

    I understand that.
What I don't get is why I should have to pay some out fit a fee to have my check approved or accepted!

    O I C
I thought you had to be approved through SCAM In order get your checks accepted and they like charged you a flat or monthly fee for doing it.
