I recently disputed a bogus neg on Chexsystems. I found out about it because I tried to open a Citibank Checking account by phone and was denied because of it. It was deleted this week. Should I re-apply to Citi? Does anyone know if they require a minimum score for a basic account and what bureau they pull? I don't want to have 2 inquiries and still get denied.
Yes, And I think it is fairly normal. A lot of posts here about the issue. The question is, will they pull it again? And what's good enough?
JUST LIKE INSURANCE COMPANIES PULL A "HARD" TO "SEE" HOW YOU DRIVE...SOME BANKS PULL A "HARD" TO "SEE" HOW YOU BALANCE YOUR CHECKBOOK!!! THERE IS NO LAW THAT MAKES THEM DO IT...THEY JUST DO IT BECAUSE THEY CAN!!!
ASK FIRST ABOUT IF THEY PULL A CREDIT REPORT...IF THEY SAY YES...TAKE YOUR CASH AND DASH!!! But don't DASH too fast...you will pass up that bank nextdoor!!!
I would be very interested in knowing the procedure that you followed to get ChexSystems to Delete!! I have a similar situation. Last year I did a check up on my credit and found an entry for a bank that is several states away from me, for closed account, owed money. I called the bank, (Number listed on Credit Report), and after several apologies, and a follow-up dispute letter to memorialze my request, it was taken off. A few months ago, went to a bank to open a checking account and found out I was listed in ChexSystems. I didn't even know what a ChexSystems was !!! Now I have sent dispute letter directly to ChexSystems and have a form letter follow up that is asking for previous addresses, bank account numbers and tax id numbers, date of birth, drivers license numbers, etc., because they say they can't find my file. If they can't find my file, why am I listed in ChexSystems? Thanks for any input you may have. Amy
