Last month I disputed an old bank account that was closed and reported to Chexsystems. I was a signer on this account, the account was closed for NSF activity. Chexsystems verified the info and sent me a letter confirming this and included a contact number to the bank. I called the bank and since the account was back in '99 they could not provide me with any info. I called Chexsystems back, the customer rep. listened to my situation, she told me to hold while she called the bank, she came back on the line 2 or 3 minutes later and told me that since the bank can't provide me or her with info she would immediately delete the tradeline. I will wait for the letter confirming this but as it stands right now, I was able to have this tradeline removed by disputing and following up with a phone call. This is the way the CRA's should all operate, instead of trying to hinder consumers, this person stood up a fixed the error with no excuses or additional hoops for me to jump through.
