I disputed 4 collection accounts, 1 paid collection all as "not mine". The only thing that was removed was the duplicate account by Gulf State. The accounts that are still on, wouldn't sign for the validation letters. I checked with Post office and they said they should be on their way back to me. I am confused it says under the collections that verified and weren't deleted: "EQUIFAX VERIFIED THAT THIS ITEM BELONGS TO YOU. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION HAS BEEN PROVIDED FROM THE ORIGINAL SOURCE REGARDING THIS ITEM. SEE ENCLOSED CREDIT FILE...WT@#$@#??? Under Asset Acceptance Corp., my largest chargeoff because they added 100% interest and fees, it says "customer unable to locate consumer". Then it says under high credit and terms sections "Dispute - Resolution Pending". Isn't this a violation of the FRCA? They are saying the investigation is complete, but under the listing of the account is says "resolution - pending". Does Equifax have a history of doing this? What action should I take next? Thanks!!!
Re: CHOD results from Equifax-confu They won't accept certified mail? Then haul a few newly-typed validation letters down to the bank, sign them in front of the notary, and have the documents notarized. Then send the validation letters via Federal Express regular overnight. This runs about $10-12 per letter more than certified mail, but the letter will be tracked and you will have proof of delivery. (If the CA uses a P.O. Box rather than a regular street address, use USPS Express Mail rather than FedEx.) Won't your CA friends be surprised when they find themselves in possession of your tracked, confirmed, and notarized requests for formal validation? Doc
Re: CHOD results from Equifax-confu Thanks, PsychDoc for answering. I'm going to use that approach this time. I don't sign any of my letters because I don't want them to have my signature. Because then they might be able to match up the signatures with the accounts numbers. Do you think I can notarize without signing??
Re: CHOD results from Equifax-confu I have had a few collectors try not signing for certified mail - I got around one by writing "Payment Enclosed" on the lower left corner of the envelope the next time It was sent - they signed for it the same day after refusing my previous attempt.
Re: CHOD results from Equifax-confu Thanks so much, I'm going to regroup and plan my method of attack. So far, I've had 2 ca accounts deleted in only 2 online disputes. I think I'm doing pretty well. I am going to reprint the letter and send it to the CA tomorrow. I have an ongoing dispute with Experian and I really want this account off. All good suggestions, thanks!
Re: CHOD results from Equifax-confu Okay, I called Equifax to ask them about the designation on the ca account. They said the CA is investigating and they will update the account when they are finished. I said don' t you have to take the account off if they don't verify within 30 days? He said they did verify - the only thing they need to verify is my name, address, and ssn. I said to him well if that's the case them I can just info. I feel to anyone account and say they owe me money. He basically said, "yes" that's about correct. He offered to investigate it again with them. I declined and said I would get in contact with the company. I got the fax# and told me I would request an investigation after I contact the ca. I think I am going to use PsychDoc's approach. I am going to fedex them tomorrow. Then contact Equifax at the end of the week. Does FedEx deliver to P.O. Boxes???? Am I using the correct approach with Equifax? Lizardking, Breeze, LKH, or Marie. Would you care to respond? Thank you
Re: CHOD results from Equifax-confu FedEx doesn't deliver to PO Boxes(neither does UPS), use USPS Express mail service.
