Well for Experian I had 2 collections deleted and 11 inquiries. Had one positive account added (AU) that has a 2 yr history with a high limit and low balance. All I got point wise out of all that was 2 measly points. Apparently the collections weren't counting for much or something? I don't know...but that is somewhat discouraging.
Sometimes the scoring system is somewhat retarded. Give it a week or so and see if the score jumps a little more. I would think with the 2 collections gone, you'd get a drastic point increase. How old were the collections? If they were towards the 7 year point, that may be why the score didn't go up much more. Nonetheless, it will look much better to creditors without having collections on your credit report.
They were 2 yrs and 3 yrs old. I just expected a bigger jump especially with the added positive account. That took my ratio from 17% available to 78% available credit too.
Here's my best guess based upon my judicious observations (lol): If you have other collections on your report, you won't see the big jump until those are removed as well. (Perhaps there's something else "really bad" on your report that's figuring into the mix to suppress the score.) Remember that the scoring isn't strictly additive (i.e., for every good thing, add more points) since there is an upper limit of 850. In other words, it's the presence of negatives that works to deflate rather than the sheer number of negatives. Doc
How did you get your AU stuff put on your report? I added my hubby as an AU 3 months ago on 2 accounts and it's still not on there. AND TU removed hubbys ONLY positive acct. His score went from 560 to 480 because of this. Is there something I should send in for him? Quick question for Citi holders, when I applied I put hubby as a second card holder, will this appear on his report? They never asked for SSN#? Thanks! KHM
AU's Hi KHM I don't know of anything you can do to add an AU. Some will do it and some do NOT! For example.. I added my dh to my FCNB.... The next month they had it on his CR. The same with MCCBG... (I have 3 AU's on my MCCBG card and all are reporting) I guess it depends on the company.
Re: AU's Yes Citi reports AU's. A lot of companies don't because they got sued for it. Ex-spouse situations, etc.
