I am done with my current round of disputing and I know we are getting close to CHOD. Can I send in one more round before it starts? Also, what is the best time to start the CHOD that you all who have been through it noticed? Mid November or beginning of December?
For CHOD, you probably want to start mailing a week before (or the week of) turkey day. ;-) This makes sure that T-day, and right before X-mas is included in the dispute period. If it gets there after T-day, X-mas is included completely (since T-day is a month before X-mas this year). It's a really tight squeeze to try to fit another pre-CHOD dispute in there, they'ld get it around the 20th, have until the 20th to complete the investigation, and you wouldn't have the results probably until right after T-day.
Basically, CHOD is the equivalent of the X-mas rush in the local department stores. Since the gap between the two holidays is approx a month, and the investigation period is a month, overlapping the two seemed a perfect idea to hopefully find a present under your tree from those PITA trade lines. ;-)
CHOD = Credinet Holiday Onslaught of Disputes The idea being that there are many days off between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and many CRA employees who take days off leaving less time and manpower to process disputes. It used to work better in the past before things were so automated, nowadays it is CN "tradition" to dispute during this time period
Thanks Jam and pd. Pd, do you think it is pointless then to do it? Jam what about you? I am fine with just doing the normal non CHOD dispute as I see no point in waiting in case it doesn't work as well anymore, but if it does...I don't wanna miss out!
Thanks Jam! This may sound dumb, but if they don't have the (wo)/man power to handle the processing, how do they handle the deleting that is then necessary? Next and last question for now, in general - if you dispute and no reply comes, they delete - THEN reply comes (I know that they are to give you 5 day notice for reinsertion but....) do they ALWAYS reinsert if it comes after? Maybe it's something we'll never know?
I haven't really specifically used CHOD myself, if the regular disputes fall into that time-frame, so be it. But deletions are supposed to be done automatically by their system (maintaining adequite safeguards) if they receive no verification from the data furnisher during the 30 day window. If it gets verified later, then the regular re-insertion rules apply.
