I had a paid collection removed and 2 inquiries (had to use BBB to get these inquiries off)--my score went from 683 to 755!

    CHOD WAS A GREAT IDEA!

How did you go about using the BBB to get the inquiries removed? Did you do it online, or go to a local office? Did you have them contact the CRA, or the creditor?

Congrats. I assume it jumped so much because it was the last derog on your report? I've noticed if you have 2 or 3 derogs, you will get a few points per deletion, but when the last one comes off it really jumps. Am I right?

I did a search by the creditor's website at BBB.org and did everything online. Funny thing is, I checked last night on EQ, and the inquiries have come off every report but Equifax! So now I have to contact the creditors again and ask them to nudge Equifax to remove. The BBB contacted the creditor. It is very beneficial if the creditor is a member of the BBB--you have more leverage. Unfortunately, neither of mine were.

I still have a unpaid chargeoff on TU which I have decided to settle out (credit union in TX--don't mess with TX). So, yes, this was one of the last 2 things.

I got my TU CHOD results back today too but I have a question. I have 1 judgement delete, 3 CA deletes and 5 inq's del but they did not provide me with an updated score. Do I need to pay to have a score pulled again or is there some way around it?

I really don't know. Usually they automatically include it. Call and tell them it was omitted in error--ask for a new copy of your report.

You can call and ask for it or go online and pull a report using a recent inquiry and say you were denied for credit by that company on XX date. I pull my TU about every 3 days with no problems. I always say I was denied by Cap One and I get it everytime. Of course, my score remains even though I am getting deletions with them. WTF is that about? They are just idiots.
