    short answer: no

medium answer: don't even think about bank. unless the situation is absolutely dire, with no other option

best answer: the experts from the board will chime in soon

You might get away with it if you pay them off first so you don't have to include them in the bankruptcy. The danger is that they will find out and close your accounts anyway.

We kept our Amex and a gas card after declaring Chapt 13. I guess we were lucky they did not close our accounts. We didn't realize at the time. Filed April 98, discharged July 2001. Current Fico EQ-me-713, DH-703. We had not applied for new credit until recently. Refi on mortgage 5.5. I was thrilled with the rate. We were quoted much higher by subprime lender. We gave it a try with conventional lender, no problem. There is life after BK. I still wouldn't suggest it unless there is no other way out.

You have to declare all debts. So if you owe them anything at all on the day you file, you have to list them.

If you owe them nothing, you don't have to list them, but they will more than likely cancel you anyway. Most of them subscribe to services that troll for BK filings and report back to them.

You could reaffirm the debts, but the other CCs that you don't reaffirm would object (and win) unless you are filing a 100% C13, or you can claim that the reaffirmed CC was "secured".

Depending on where you live, you may not be permitted to use CCs while in C13 anyway. In my Circuit, you are not allowed to borrow an aggregate sum of money greater than $100 at a time without asking for written permission from the Trustee. The rules are somewhat more lax if you are filing a 100% C13, but it still depends on where you live.
