My husband and I had attempted to file bankruptcy bank in 2000 twice. Our attorney was an idiot and ultimately was disbarred. We had a leased truck that was turned in 9/2000, our bankruptcy that was filed and confirmed was filed 10/2000. I found that my husband has this truck a charge off on his credit now. This truck wasn't even included in "that" bankruptcy but it may have been with the other attempts with the idiot lawyer. Apparently once the original attempts were received by Chrysler, they stopped contacting us for anything and there was turn in fee on the lease. We didn't realize it otherwise we would have paid it (we had been making the payments all along) but since they didn't contact us we didn't know. How should I handle this should I attempt to get a letter stating that they will remove the bad debt listing before I pay it? Thanks
