I am looking for advice on an old cingular account on my credit report. This account is from late 99. Here is the rundown of the account: Only listed on EQ not on any other reports. 1) Status--"Pays as Agreed" 2) Shows late one time O3, in 11/98 3) DOLA--12/99 4) Max credit $678 5) Past Due $678 So I dont know what to do about this, since it is currently showing a positive status. I never paid a dime of this $678, and dont know how exactly they figured this amount. It is the only remotely negative entry on my EQ CR, and I would like to get it off. However, I disputed it a while back as "never late." I know I should have tried "not mine," but I was hoping they would remove the negative late entry and I would be left with a positive TL. Anyhow, before the dispute there was no mention of the past due amount. Now they updated it to include a past due amount, however the status remains "pays as agreed." What would you do? I don't want to wake a sleeping beast, but I do want this off. I can see a few problems with the listing not being entirely accurate. The DOLA is not correct, its about 9 months late. But if I start to nitpick, I may sick some collectors on myself for the past due amount. Sorta a pickle. Help! Thanks
I work for Cingular. I can look into it if you have the whole account number. I might be able to score a few more details for you.
faztcobra, On my CR the account number is truncated. I will look and see if I can find an old bill, but its been so long I dont think I have one around. What do you think is the best way to find out the whole account number, without attracting too much attention? Thanks for your help.
If you want, you can email me the name as it appeared on the bill and what market you had service in and I can likely find it that way.
Acct open: 11/20/98 Canceled: 04/28/00 Bal: $678.62 Looks like our internal collectors never assigned it to a CA, just stated that it was paid as agreed and then when you disputed it as never late, it was updated with the correct balance. Usually, it does go to a CA. I don't know why this one didn't.
Re: Re: Cingular account, need help. Thanks! I would hope someone else who is very intersted in credit repair as our little "community" is, would do the same if they were in a position to do so. It's such a headache just knowing that such things are on your CR and you can't see what the OC sees. Every little bit helps.
Re: Re: Cingular account, need help. faztcobra, Sent an email to you, before I read this post. Going to send another to you, after posting this. Thanks for your help.
Re: Re: Cingular account, need help. Looks like we hit a HOME RUN! Glad I could help you get it gone.
Re: Re: Cingular account, need help. Hi fast - read the Cingular review in the newest Consumer Reports. I know a lot of customers will switch based on the Cingular reviews. Verizon beat out everybody. ATT was last! Oh yes - I built part of PacTEL Wireless before SBC. later - dogman
Re: Re: Re: Cingular account, need help. Oh yeah we did. I think it was more like a grand slam, especially since its the last item with negative info on my EQ report. Oh yeah!!! Just so everybody knows, faztcobra is the man. Thanks a ton, I really appreciated your help!
It should be on the newstand now or next week. I normally get it a week early as a subscriber. They do have an online service, but you have to pay to join, annually... I was surprised at HOW WELL VERIZON rated - in almost all categories - but VZ has best network - no overloaded circuits. They like the "ROLLOVER MINUTES" for Cingular... Very comparative - cover story - and how to switch your cell phone carrier and keep your number....
