I can't believe it, Cingular approved me for a phone with no deposit needed with 2 derogs. I'm not sure who they pulled, it wasn't evil EXP. I'm just happy to be rid of Sprint PCS. They suck, so many dropped calls, no service, etc. i tried to get Cingular service about a year ago and they wanted a $700 deposit. I tried again and no deposit needed. I did a have a collection for a phone bill that was deleted because it wasn't mine. So that may have been the reason for the deposit about a year ago. Anyway, I'll post how the service once I get it. Cingular is a mixed bag. They do not put a "due date" on their bill. It says pay before xxx. It drives me crazy! They usually start calling a few days before xxx with pre-recorded reminders. Problem is, DH doesn't get a paycheck, money is wired to him on a whim, so I may or may not have money on xxx. They do cut it off, but will turn it back on, and have not reported to any of the CRAs.
They can't be as bad as Sprint. I have tried to change my plan 2 times with Sprint and each time they say I'm on the new plan, but low and behold, I'm not still over my minutes. Also, Sprints hold time to get a CSR is about 30 minutes. How is the Cingular service in your area?
Service is the main reason I chose them. We live in an extremely rural area, and they were the only ones that had towers that would service me without roaming. Had a couple of months rough start with them on billing (roaming issue), but they were quick to fix my problems. It really is my problem when the phones are turned off, I can't complain about that...just thought I would warn you. Sprint Sux. I quit them about 2 yrs ago for turning off my phone because THEY lost my payment. Poor CSR servce, dropped calls, etc. They then tried to bill DH a $200 cancellation fee. LOL, he had a friend in Sprint who mailed him a phone, and then we activated. No contract was signed. They then had the nerve to call and offer me 1 free month to reconnect. Told them I would rather have my eyes gouged out. Actually, just recieved a letter from a CA a couple of days ago trying to collect that $200. Sure, show me the contract he signed....
Yes, sprint does suck. My cancellation fee is $100. I'm willing to pay it just to be rid of them. The FTC should get on them for false advertising.
