Interesting! Very interesting....(congrats by the way). So you can have 3 Citi cards now? I thought only 2????
I know for sure you can have 3. My friend had a platinum select already and I told him to apply for the aa silver, got approved instantly for $7500. Then I told him to apply for the aa gold right away and he got approved for $8000. The cards came within 1 week. I have since then combined the silver with the platinum.
Question O.k. so I have a Citi Visa (since 1992) and I applied 8/15/01 and got approved for the AA Gold and Silver. I combined the silver to the Gold. So now I have 2. I want to get another card to combine with my old Visa. What card should I apply for? The AA Silver? Platinum? What????
All I know is I have the printouts with the Account numbers and the expiration dates. I can't wait to consolidate. I think after this, I'm going to close some of my little store charges. I have opened quite a few new accounts since I bought my house in february. That's more than a six month payment history for most of them, so now it's time to pay 'em off and let them sit there.
I didn't wait till i got the cards..I waited 3 days and then called them and combined both cards..I called back the next day and converted the card to the standard platinum select saying i didnt want the annual fee and a lower intrest rate...
Another Question Does anyone know if Citi will approve you for the AA card if you are carrying a large balance on one of their cards already? I have the classic VISA with a $7K balance, never late, always pay more than the minimum. Before I blow another inquiry I thought I'd check this out first with the experts at creditnet!
Re: Another Question Yes they will approve you if your internal score is good. Even with balances, you are a good customer.
Re: Question don't apply directly for platinum. Most likely you will be denied. Go for a aadvantage silver or gold. Combine and upgrade.
Re: Another Question a friend of mine was carrying a 10500 dollar balance on a platinum select with a $11000 limit. He applied for aa silver and gold and got instantly approved for both.
Re: Question Went for Silver (since is is listed as closed on my reports) and it said that my application is being process and the results will be sent to the address listed on my application. Dang....I blew it, huh? *sigh* Oh well.....
Re: Question I got that message also , I ended up with a $10.000 card. Maybe you'll get good news to. Good Luck!
Re: Question I always get that message when i applied "Already a cardholder".. Don't sweat it. wait 2 weeks, and get a suprise. Btw, always apply for 2 citi cards on the same day, you might get one or the other, but only be charged one inquiry. Smart eh?
Re: Question I just called customer service and was able to get account information on the automated system already. So I made a small internet purchase on each card
Re: Question MP$40, That's the normal message for anyone with imperfect credit. It isn't a denial. Beaker, Sam is right. Citibank issues cards based on their own internal score, and balances WITH THEM don't seem to hurt that score. I applied with two other $3000 CitiCards almost at their limits, and got a third, a $3000 AAdvantage card. Yes, you can have 3 CitiCards.
Re: Question Me too but whatever.... I'm a little more optimistic now because I just learned that they pulled Equifax today. I was on the phone with Equifax and they verified that Citi pulled an inquiry. Also, my credit is in better shape NOW than it was when I got the two AA cards. I had 2 collections, a paid student loan collection, and an auto paid chargeoff. Today when Citi pulled my report, only thing on there was the auto chargeoff with a DOL of 11/98. Hope they don't trip on that because I thought it was currently under dispute but after talking w/ Equifax, I don't think it is. Oh well.....we'll see.
HELLO, I just applied and they told me as soon as they verify my info they will give me a credit card with a limit of $10,000. Has anyone received this message and later was denied? How long before the card arrives? Thanks to this great board and the people who contribute
