I recieved the Citi AA silver and upgraded to AA plat select world mastercard. This card has no pre-set limit and it will let you go way above the credit limit as long as you pay it back down the next month plus the minimum payment. I am currently about 200.00 over my limit and called to convert to the regular plat select so I can pay off my balance and enjoy the 2.9 BT rate for 9 months. Am I taking a step backwards or does this seem an ok route to go?

    Any replies appreciatetd.

Depends on whether you want miles (and pay the annual fee and higher APR) or you want the lower rate of the plat. select with no annual fee. Why not just get a second card and have both?

I don't think that you are going to get 2.9 on your current AA card balance by doing a product transfer. That rate applies to balance transfers from cards other than Citibank and affiliates--although if you call for a balance transfer, they will make the check payable to you and you can use the money any way you want including paying off the AA card.

They would not approve me for a second card. I was told to many inquiries and to wait about six months. I decided I did`nt want miles so I product transferred to the regular plat select.
