I am sure this is somewhere... but it's Sunday and my eyes hurt If you still have a bk showing in the public records section of your reports... but didn't include Citi on the bk (so no blacklist) will Citi approve with a prior bk? I know they'll let you have poor scores and derogs... but a bk not including Citi? and how about Citi USA? I know Radishack will work... but anyone else get a Citi and if so what and when please
Citibank NA approved a friend for the AA cards early this year. They had a bk 7 that was about 8 years old. Also had some late pays but no other derogs, if I remember and I think I do. It was instant approval.
I know someone who, within the past 3 weeks, got a Citi Platinum $3,000 credit limit with an 8-year old Ch 7 bk. Other than the bk, they have perfect credit. No other derogs, and a lot of positive tradelines. Also, no inquiries.
Hi Marie: I filed for ch 7 bk in April 1995 (more than 7 yrs ago) and it's still showing on my reports. I was just recently approved (2 months ago) for a 5K Citi Illumina card and a 1K AT&T Universal Card (issued by Citibank). When I filed back in 1995, however, Citi wasn't one of my creditors. Hope this helps.
Sounds like my scenario - '95 BK otherwise perfect credit, $3300 Illumina and $1000 Platinum. A credit analyst-type told me their rule is 7 years and no bad experience with Citi (no chargeoffs, settlements, or include in BK). They are about the only big bank that will consider an applicant with a BK (while it still reports) without the applicant having to go through some kind of manual override process (read: begging letter). -mj
I talked to them several months ago about this. They usually pull Equifax and have a in-house scoring system. The lady said if they went by BEACON that not many people would be approved. She said their policy was that a ch 7 BK had to be at least 7 years old before they would approve a new acct.
