If you're a credit builder who has (or used to have) an Associates card, this may be of interest to you.

As you know, Citibank(SD) is gradually taking over Associates' credit card portfolio. Once they are done integrating their computer systems, all Associates cards will be serviced by Citibank(SD). Which means, if you hold an Associates card at the time of the transfer, chances are you'll be able to get your foot in Citi's door.

If you have an account with the Associates that was previously closed, now would be a good time to re-open it. Just call the Associates customer service, ask for the credit dept., and request that they reinstate your account (they'll pull a CR if it's been closed for over 2 months).

In my case, I'll have another benefit: Once the trasnfer is made, I'll combine it with my existing Citi, thus enjoying a higher credit limit, and benefiting from my old Associates tradeline which is 1 year older than Citi's.
