I was an AU on my wife's citi.....7'd a few years ago. How should I go about removing (directly with CRA or with citi?). Any idea if I'm also blacklisted by CITI (or how to get off)?

Being an Authorized User on A chapter 7, Wll not hurt you as bad as you thing.. You are not legally bound to pay the Debt.. If your individual Credit is ok, You would probaly still get a loan..

    Rubyjean,

I have heard of some people's card companies closing their accounts because they were AU on a card and the account owner took bk.

I think I would get myself removed from AU status on that account ASAP.

With my experience, just about all 3 of the CRAs will remove a AU account without much of a fight. Just dispute directly with the CRA and generally, they will not even bother verifing it.

I added my Mom as AU on 3 of my cards, they all said I could remove that authorization at any time.

re Disputing it with CRA's - what happens when the CCC sends the updated information? Wouldn't it go right back on?
