I went thru several threads and could not find an answer to this. Can anyone please tell me if I can obtain a Citi AA silver card if I already have a CITI AA gold and CITI plat. select. It is my understanding that the gold AA and Plat. select are two different entities within CITI so there is a possibility of having 3 CITI cards? 2 AA's and one Platinum? Please let me know. Thanks

I had a Citi Classic Visa and applied for both AA cards and was approved. I combined to the Gold AA and then later on applied for another Silver AA card. I was denied due to having the maximum number of Citi cards. Others will have different stories. This is the road block I encountered. If I were you, I would combine your AA card to the Platinum card, then later on apply for another AA card.

I'm still trying to figure out how to combine into 1 card with out messing up the 9 year history of my classic card.

What some have done is SILVER AA if approved same hour GOLD AA (ONE CREDIT REPORT~~~TWO CARDS)...when the cards come, combine...

LATER ON, trade for PLATINUM SELECT...

You can get a higher credit limit by getting two or three cards, than you will ever get if you APPLIED for a limit increase...

    Thanks George,
So am I better off combining the gold aa w/ the platinum then applying for the silver? If i have a balance on my Gold can i still transfer it to the Platinum?

    MP $40,
When you applied the second time around for the silver AA did you tell them you already had 2 CITI cards?

    tommy,

I felt adventurous today and applied for an AAdvantage card.

Got the old "As soon as your application is processed, we'll send the results to the address you submitted on your application. "

I already have a plat. select and a gold AA card, wanted to boost my limit on one of those. On my original applications it gave me instant apporval, so I'm guessing they'll say I have one too many cards. Hope it hasn't cost me another inquiry...

So, in light of this, you should probably combine before applying for more cards.

I sent an e-mail to CITI card central regarding number of cards allowed. The e-mail stated:There is no limit to the number of cards you can have from CITI.
