The online response you got from Citi doesn't sound too encouraging.

When my husband and I submitted our applications online, I received instant approval and he got the Your application needs further processing message. The end result was a denial for him.

If you don't receive approval, call CitiBank up and ask to know the reason. Perhaps your application will be reconsidered or the Citi rep wil pass along some useful information.

I hate to say it but I suspect you applied for the wrong card. Your post didnot sound too confident. Everyone applied for the American Airlines Aadvantage card (silver) or the gold card. NOT THE WORLD CARD. Did you apply for the right one?

for the status of your application.

 

It was a no for me Mike....hope there's better news for you.

 

yah couple of my friends, with credit situations similar to me, recently got the NO letter.

Actually their credit is better looking than mine.
