I followed all strings and found out how to do this (BDD). I just completed the BDD (Thanks George) using two different browsers and submitting within a minute, but received for both a message that I'll be notified via the address I posted. Any idea if I'll be approved with a 703 on EQ? I have no derogs on this report. It did work and pulled only one hard. No impact to my FICO (4th hard pulled in the last 12 months!)

What should I expect for CLs, etc?

    A couple of Citi questions:
Do you know for certain they pull Equifax? Also, is the Citi you are referring to, Citibank South Dakota, or Citi USA in Delaware?
I know someone who recently applied for a Citibank Platinum Select and they pulled TU. The TU inquiry says "CitiCards CBSDNA"

I was referring to Citibank SD. If you go to www.millcbs.com it may lend some help in identifying what CRA would be pulled for you. I live in Kansas, so it pulled EQ. I verified it by looking at my report via Credit Watch 2 minutes after I applied online and it showed it there.

CBSDNA is South Dakota. The citi that we refer to re:BDD is Sout Dakota. They pull Experian for me.
as far as scores go, people have been approved with scores in the low 600's.

Mike, you should be approved for at least 1 card with that score. Don't know if the BDD is still working. They are very generous with the starting limits. I have a Plat Select with $11,500 limit from combining the gold and silver aa cards ala BDD and then converting.

The last time I tried it they told me that anytime they get more than one application at the same time, that they process neither(this is what happened to me). It seems they caught on to the 'double'

If you get AASILVER and AAGOLD it will be the FIRST BDD in a long time...

    I got "INSTANT" answer on both...LATE 2001

Thanks George. I hadn't realized it was no longer working. I called this morning to find the status and was given two separate application follow/tracking numbers. I was told that both apps were in the 'approval' process, and that I would hear back in 10 to 14 days. The rep wasn't at all helpful beyond that.

I guess I'll be the test case to see if it works again...

On a separate note: Regarding applying for new CCs-I've applied for 5 credit cards this weekend since my EQ FICO gained 87 pts on Friday (including the citi BDD) and had only 3 inquiries on my EQ report. I expected a drop in my FICO as I already had 2 inquiries from last December. When I applied for the Best Buy card/Household MC combo yesterday I was told it would only be one inquiry on my report. And so it was... No change in FICO. I think I'm lucky and won't apply for anything else.

I figure the utilization I will gain from the cards will improve my FICO above what I lose in inquiries.

They may tell you that it is only 1 inq for both household cards, but it is 2. They run the Best Buy first. That is the inq you are seeing. When I applied for both, it was almost 2 weeks after the Best Buy inq before they pulled again for the Household. Maybe they've changed it, but I was told, 2 different cards, 2 different departments, 2 different applications and 2 different inquiries.

Did you apply online or by paper? I'm wondering why they would take so long to run a report? Now that you mention it, I called Household to find out the status of the MC I applied for, and it only gave me a status of the GM card as approved. No mention of anything else.

Well, it looks like it worked...so far. I just called to check on the status and was told that I was approved for citiAA Gold and citiAASilver both on the same day. Both should be in the mail as of today. I'm not posting CLs yet, but will do when I get them. I will say the CL on the Silver is considerably less for some reason...any ideas why? I did not receive an instant answer online however, and have had to wait 8 days for a response. But the rep I talked with said Citi allows several accounts at the same time, so we'll see...

Just tell them straight up. You've had a change of heart, please combine the two AA's into the silver,
then convert&pick a platinum select product.

don't beat around the bush, citi doesn't care. They make theirs regardless of the card ;)

Thanks Sam, I intend to do so as soon as they come in the mail and I call to activate them. Isn't that the correct procedure?

Sorry, I just saw this for the first time now. I applied online. The # you called at household must have been the GM card #. The # for the Best Buy and HH MC I think is 1-800-660-1767.

LKH, thanks for responding! You were right, they did another inquiry a week later. I got approved for a much smaller amount than GM approved me for the previous week, but I'm happy to get it. I now have 3 Household inq's on my report all within a week. I intend to dispute them as duplicates because the Best Buy customer service drone said that the Best Buy card and Household M/C would only be one inquiry! I said are you sure...I don't think so. He said they've changed..... So' I'll wait and get it removed via a goodwill request first, then a dispute.

What's interesting is I've had 5 hard inquiries in the last 2 weeks, but my FICO hasn't gone done at all.

Mike what was the outcome of this?

Hey dep. Been gone for a couple of months. Just decided to visit and there was this posting...so had to answer.

Back in Sept when I applied for both using the BDD, it worked, got both cards. Because I was able to double my credit limits on both cards, I decided to keep both seperate for later when I want to request additional limits. It's been six months so I'll probably do it soon. Although, Citibank was willing to combine the cards into a plat product.

I was thinking of giving this a try. I saw a posting on creditboards.com ( where some of the vets are now) that it is still working so I am going to give it a try, after this weekend. I am closing on my house and don't want any new INQ until it's done
