I have two student credit cards (visa and mastercard) from CITI that I got 4 years ago (freshman year) at college. They were originally Associates and they were virtually flawless until recently. I lost my job and had medical problems. I couldn't pay so I fell behind.

The min payments were so high that i decided to try a debt settlement company. They had me send close account letters / powers of attorney to citi. A month or so passes and then I was fortunate to get a new job. I cancelled the debt settlement program so I can try to re-age these accounts. Now, Is it still possible to make these positive tradelines again or should I give up? How would I go about negotiating with the OC? It is not charged off.

My main concern is trying to restore my credit report. It is awful because of these two accounts. My Mastercard Credit limit is $2,950 and the balance is $3,322.11. For my Visa, the credit limit is $4,700 and the balance is $5,533.19. My privacy guard credit score based on equifax is 531. I have attached an illustration of how my two accounts look on privacy guard. Thanks for your help..
