I just recently paid a $80 collection bill 3 weeks ago. I verified with the rep that nothing was sent to the bureaus. I checked all 3 and did not see it either. Just yesterday this collection is showing on TU and EQ as unpaid. My paid letter is on the way.I disputed this and will fax it to them upon receipt. I have 2 new CITI Plat. cards (2 months old at 10.9%). Will my rates get jacked up because of this or is there a proactive approach or suggestion to help this from not happening??Please help i like my low rates...

Why didn't you get a deletion for this?

This is why I haven't paid my three derogs, and they're all false.

I'm preparing lawsuits as we speak against three CA's.

Then I'm going after EX and TU for a remaining paid charge off, and EQ for inquiries.

None of these people followed FCRA and FDCA, and I'm pissed.

I feel if I pay, I lost money and "proved" I owe this debt.

I know what you mean over Citi. I'm at 9.9% right now and am being considered for three cards.

If the derog existed when you got the accounts, then I doubt they'd do anything.

If it was not there before, then I'd be worried.

How often does CITI check A/R the CRAs?

I was led to belive nothing was sent to the CRAs. They must have lied.I guess that they could send the notice to the CRAs and it can take the CRAs a while to update?

Does anyone recommend one of the credit repair agencies to remove a small paid collection? If so, which one? How much do the charge?

Just called CITI customer Service to inquire about default apr. The rep stated that in 2001 everyone will have a monthly A/R review from CITI. If there are any derog's on other accounts (30 day late, collections, chargeoffs, etc) your rates get jacked to 24.99%. He did not know if they ever go back down.
He did not mention anything about scores.

oh good heavens...I have to add this...I am going through this exact thing with Citibank...I have had a card with them for about 14 years and like clockwork, every 6-7 weeks they A/R me via Equifax. After several years (yes, years--I keep copies of credit reports and they've been doing this for at least 4 or 5 years), I finally got jacked to 24.99 from about 10%. Why? Because I have an inactive, closed Jc Penneys account that all of a sudden started showing 13 60 day lates and 1 90-day lateon Equifax--and Equifax only.

I fortunately immediately caught this and got a letter from Penney's stating that there should be no negatives reporting (and of course they have no idea how this got on EQ...) and have sent it to all 3 CRA's, but not before Citi decided to bless me with their default rate.

When I called, the rep at Citi gave very vague info--had I not known about the Penney's account, I would have been scrambling, trying to figure out the next move. The only info they can give is "we found something on your EQ CR."

Basically, Citi lowered my rate back down for 4 months with the "promise" to AR near March '02 to see if the derog was gone. But again, they won't say exactly waht derog they need removed. Very annoying and I am just glad that I "think" I zoomed in on correcting the account they didn't like.

Of course, I am also wondering now what specifically are they looking for--I have some relatively old lates from years ago--would those matter? Or are they just looking for any lates or anything other than R1 or I1? They surely won't tell or get specific and that's the part that just annoys the heck out of me. It is like they have these rules that someone somewhere knows about, and they're being used against the players--meaning the cardholders.

I am just praying I can get the rate back down--right now I can't pay the thing in full and I guess that's what they are banking on--charging high rates while the prime is low.

    Grrr.

This is all part of the con game of Creditors CRAs and Fico.
Solution out law FICO and shut down the CRS.
I know I have my detractors who say this shouldn't be done until some thing better comes along.
The fault with that idea is if you wait for them to clean up their own act nothing will ever change or it will only get worse:

I just called the Collection Co. CCS out of Boston to see if they would remove the derog. sent to all bureaus for $80 on 11/30( reads Collection open unpaid..just paid it recently). They said there company does not do this. They will send a paid in full letter. My qustion is how should I dispute this new addition to my report? I called CITI bank because I have 2 cards w/ them I did not give my name but asked questions. The CSR stated accounts will be reviewed monthly begining in 2002 and if they see any derogs they will jack you to 24.99%. If you feel the derog is not yours they'll give you 4 months to clear up. She had no idea if they would give any mercy if the collection was only $80 (med bill). She was pretty certain a negative is a negative! Any advice out there on how to handle this?? It appears if I can get it removed I'll be OK..Need advice please HELP!! :)

    Tommyy,
What other credit cards do you have and what room might be left on them for Balance Transfers?
