I tried using the nutcase letter with a paid citi account (late pays), and it got me nowhere. I am going to try to send a goodwill adjustment, and was wondering if anyone has had any luck with PFB. Or if it would be better for me to fax it in? Any advice would be appreciated.

The very first link in this page will take you to my "goodwill" letter to Citibank. The trade was deleted a week later.

I'm not quite sure how effective nutcase letters work with original creditors, Citi in particular. When I tried to "act" nutcase on the phone with them and demand proof of late pay history - they sent me EVERY billing statement I had with them and refused to help. I then resorted to this letter, after I got a card from them on reconsideration.

If you choose to use my letter with Citi, I strongly recommend that you modify it, since it may be taken as a "semi-form letter" now. Or, use one of the other letters in Randy's post that differ substantially from mine, but work just as well.

Thanks Marci!!! I plan on using a modified version of your letter, which is very well written. Hopefully this works, as this is my only ding on experian, and one more on each trans and equifax (which are actual errors.. but thats a whole different story). In your letter you addressed it to Mr. Weill do you think this would be wise for me? Or am I better off with a dear sirs/madams? Thanks again for your great help.

The new CEO is actually Kendall Stork. If you're going to write it and send it snail-mail, I'd address it to him and send it to the "Citibank, N.A." address listed on PlanetFeedback.Com.

If you're going to use PFB to send it, address it to Mr. Weill (you have a drop down menu of choices) and it will get to the Office of the President.

    Scott,

I should clarify that the nutcase letter was originally intended for original creditors, so please ignore my earlier statement about that.

I hope things work well for you,
