I just applied for this last night and got the response: "Thank you for applying, you should receive a response by mail within 2-4 weeks." I know this card doesn't have instant approval, but is this a rejection or just the standard response given to all applicants ?

I know some members of the board have this card, so I was wondering what score did some of you have when you were approved for this card ?

    Thanks.

I got that response and called the next week to find out that I was approved. Call customer service at the number listed on the Q&A page of www.hhonorscard.com and ask.

Just called today and found out that the application is still being processed. It's been a week so far, but the rep told me that it takes about 3-4 weeks to get the card.

Did anyone get a card after waiting 2-3 weeks ? It doesn't have to be this one, but I'm just wondering if a processing time of 2-3 weeks means a denial ? Usually, approvals come within days of applying, but I'm not sure about this one. Even if I'm denied, I can get a free copy of my credit report which I was going to check anyway.

Just called and found out that I was approved!!! The revolving limit is 7500 and I can go up to 9300. The processing did take some time, but I'm happy about the limits. I think this account reports as "open" so it will help out my overall mix of credit. Thanks to all from the board!

Congrats, Steve! I hope that you enjoy the card. I have mixed feelings, myself.

    Here are some warnings:

You won't be able to pay on the card before the first statement cycles, unless you send in a physical check. And, in my case, they credited the wrong amount on the check, and were very snotty about it when I called to complain. I had to call several times to get a supervisor who agreed to reverse finance charges that accrued daily on a supposed "purchase" from C2it.Com. She can't credit the finance charges yet even though my statement closed on Monday, because...

If your statement closes in the middle of the week, you have to wait until after the weekend before it is updated online. ???????????!!!!?????????????

The online system is not the greatest in the world. Not user friendly, in my opinion. There's no reason in the world a CC should reject an online payment or credit before the 1st statement.

Customer service definitely is *not* MBNA Quantum, Citibank, or American Express. Even though you have a signature card, you don't get signature service. Even the supervisors are short and unsympathetic. "That's just the way we do it".

There is no automated system to call - you get routed directly to a person (which would be fine if I weren't so angry about how they did my account).

You have to call several times to make sure the proper Hilton Hhonors account number is noted on your account so that your points will go to the right account.

I hate to be so negative about the card. The benefits on the card are great - but Citibank USA has a long way to go wrt offering upscale customer service. This is the first time in a long time that I felt like I had a CC from a sub-prime company.

    :-(

    Marci,

Would you mind reading my post concerning Citibank vs CitibankUSA in getting approval for a HHonors card with an existing Citibank (not USA) Platinum Select with a very high credit line.

    Thanks again,

    Steve,

As an update to my Citi USA and C2it saga:

Today a Citi USA supervisor credited my cash advance fee ($9.00 for a $300 C2it purchase) and finance charges of $1.00 for this month *and* for next month.

The Hilton Hhonors 10,000 bonus points hit my Hilton Hhonors account this weekend right on schedule. B/c Citi USA gave me a new Hhonors account, I just called Hhonors to have them merge the Citi USA account with my previous Hhonors account. The points showed up on the old account.

Thanks for the tips Marci, I'm probably going to receive the card this week. I don't have a Hilton Honors account so I think Citi USA will set it up for me. I was just wondering how long it takes to receive the membership information from Hilton after you get the card ? I remember the Citi website mentioned within 4-6 weeks, but does it usually come sooner than that ?

How many points is needed for a nights stay?

It depends on the particular hotel. I haven't actually used any points yet, but I will be soon.

    check out www.hiltonhhonors.com

You can see the ways you can earn and redeem hhonors points.

    leo,

The very minimum for one free night's stay is 10,000 points - but as "the other" mentioned - this is not for all Hilton Hotels. This is usually for "non-vacation/no frills" type Hiltons.

You can also use points to get room upgrades, free movies, etc...

If you get the HHonors Visa or AmEx - you actually get "Silver VIP" status, which comes with some very nice points based vacation pacakages.

Got the card yesterday along with the welcome letter. I was just wondering if there is an over the limit fee if you go over your non revolving limit ? Also where are the payments processed ?

    Thx.

I doubt there is an overlimit fee, because the card would just get declined at this point. The "no-fee overlimit grace" is the non-revolving part of your line. That's exactly why it is there and why it is called a "signature" card.

Unfortunately, I know this address well based on how they messed up my account...
