Hi all, I should be receiving my first statement for this account soon. I was wondering when the 10,000 bonus points and the points earned from purchases would be credited to my account ? The rep said it would be credited by the closing date of the next statement. Does anyone know if the points show up sooner than this ?

    Thanks.

My first statement cycled on the 5th of March. My points showed up in Hilton Hhonors that weekend - on the 9th of March.

If you have a prior Hhonors account, and Citi USA gave you a new Hhonors account - you will need to call Citi USA to find out the new account number, and then call Hhonors to have them merge the new account into your old account so that your points will show up.

Then go to www.hiltonhhonors.com/profile and update (you don't even need to make changes) to get a free 1000 points. The promotion is still going on - but only if you do it from this webpage and not from updating within your account menu webpage.

Thanks very much for the link, Marci. This is actually my first Hilton account that Citi set up for me. I've linked my Amex Hilton card to this one as well and I think I should be receiving 7,500 points for that account, but it doesn't close for a couple of weeks.

The Citi statement actually closed yesterday so I'll check next week to see if they added the points to my account. Do you know if there are any restrictions for reward redemption other than blackout dates, like type of room (king, double beds, etc.)?

Steve, I don't think there are any reward restrictions other than black out dates. However - the point strectcher program is restricted to only those hotels that are part of point strectcher. Not all participate.

The really nice thing wrt room type about Citi USA and AmEx Hilton is that the first year of membership is an upgrade to Silver VIP status with Hilton, which comes with nice perks of its own. But, with just four hotel visits in one year, you automatically get upgraded to Gold VIP and *that* gives you automatic complimentary upgrades to the best room in the house, if available at check-in.

When I complained that I was supposed to get Silver VIP and it hadn't shown up yet, the Hilton Hhonors person actually upgraded me to Gold VIP, so I skipped a step. And it doesn't expire for two years (not one).

Beach-front and Executive Towers, here I come! :)
