I called them up this morning and they said NES was now holding my account for collection of 1,609.00. I told them i was willing to pay them the full amount due if they would delete from my credit report. Citi said they would pull the account from NES and I would be allowed to pay them if I did it within 30 days. They could not delete from CA but notify as paid in full. He said Citi dos not do "deletions". He then told me to dispute with the CA after it has been reported as paid in full and most of the time CA's will delete the dispute. I was wondering if this is true? Any thoughts?
Per industry guidelines and practices, if an original creditor "pulls back" an account from a collection agency, then the CA is supposed to remove thier tradeline. It is best to add some insurance by disputing if it does not come off in a reasonable time (say 30-60 days).
