Ok, this is nuts. I called Citi yesterday at retention. Requested a line increase and was asked how much did I require, 15k, 20k, etc. I told him that I did not need that much at this time. He sent my information over, and this morning I check online. Old Credit Limit - $1,700.00 New Credit Limit - $10,0000.00 Good Lord! I would have asked for more, but I don't want to have too much available as I am buying a house within the next 18 months. As info, I had the card exactly 6 months, did a $1,500 bt and paid off two months later, used average spending $100-$300 per month paid in full. South Florida pulled a EQ hard. No baddies, 4 open credit cards, 713 score, 3 inq, 28k BMW loan, 2 closed auto loans, 1 closed lease. Now I have two 10k limits, Amex Blue, Citi Plat Select. Going to call Discover to see if I can get my $7,500 raised to 10k. Also called Chase yesterday to see about converting Classic to Plat and requested a 10k line from $1,400. If I get all 4 at 10k, I don't want (or need) any more cards. Period.
If you don't want it, I'll GLADLY take it! My account's been open for 6 months and I could probably hit them up for a CLI but I don't want to push my luck (especially if they find out what I ran the Crap1 card up to...temporarily)
Update- Letter from Chase today. Old Line - $1,400 New Line - $11,400 (I only asked for $10,000) The scariest thing is that TU still shows a chargeoff from two years ago of $7,000 and that's what they pulled and use for AR. I've had this card for 2 1/2 years, but good lord.
Now I'm going to upgrade it from Classic to either: 1. Perfectcard (All Gas Purchases 3%, all others 1%) 2. Stockback (Idine looks appealing) 3. Regular Platinum (best looking, no rewards, would use Blue more) Any opinions on which I should do and if they will just change the reporting without creating two tradelines?
SINCE THEY LOST OUR 2 ACCOUNTS DUE TO "JACKED" RATES (16.24%)...THEY GAVE IT TO YOU!!! His~$5,000 Hers~$6,500
I can't advise on which upgrade to get, but, yes the trade will stay the same re history. You will not get duplicate trades. All of your CL increases are because of your income, not credit history.
