   I just got my AA card in the mail with 16.9 apr called today and said I thought I would have gotten a lower rate and she said well let me see and in 10sec she said how about 12.4% thats prime + 5.something, so anyway what is the prime rate now.

   The problem here is that if you upgrade the AAdvantage card later, they will set a higher APR and you would have to negotiate the interest rate again for the new card.
