Today I open my mailbox and see a offer from citibank! WOW! I hardly ever get credit card offers in the mail, and its addressed to "eric sxxxxxx" instead of James E Sxxxxxx. Weird, my credit report says James E Sxxxxxx. Anyways it's an offer for me to apply for the Citi Illumina Card. 0% APR, blah blah. Im not even going to bother applying I dont think, I know i wouldn't get it. My FICO is good but I have a few inquires and my credit history is only about 10 1/2 months old......BUT it makes me feel good to receive this offer in the mail, in a weird sort of way. Look out! your mailbox may be next
What organizations have you joined using the name Eric? Or perhaps you have some kind of professional license using that name. Don't want to burst your bubble, but you are on some marketing list, hehe.
I get tons of offers from credit cards to apply. What I really want is a preapproval in the mail. I know I will be turned down if I just apply.
I have learned to change the spelling on my name for varies mailings. (ie book clubs, CD clubs etc.) just to see who is selling what to who. My DH used my name spelled all funky for a computer book club and we got a Fleet offer for 0% BT for a year. It was depressing that my maded up name was getting better offers then the real name. Just like the old story of offers coming in the cat or dog's name.
