Hi All, Just looking for someone who has info on the Citi secured card. Do you know if you can get it with a prior BK? Thanks BJ
I had a Citibank secured card application one time. I knew you can't have any previous Citibank charge-off accounts, no bk currently, past due. As far as I know you cannot have any charge-off accounts in your credit report. You only allowed to deposit money into saving account once for securing credit card. You cannot add any more funds into savings account after secured card is opened. Ron.
Citi still offers one, but doesn't actively "promote" it. You can call them and ask for an application. They try to send you to The Associates (a division of Citi that offers secured cards). Citi's phone is 800-950-5114
I had several paid charge-offs and a paid judgement and was able to get a Citi AA secured card. Service has been great. I hit 18 months this month and they unsecured it and will return my deposit, and the operator said that I should ask for a credit increase. And no, the derogs on my report had not fallen off when the card was unsecured. My only issue is that this account hasn't reported to any of the credit bureaus. I faxed Citibank's Credit Bureau Dispute Unit (per the customer service rep) a a request to report 2 weeks ago, still no update, so I faxed them another today. I'll keep trying, and send the CRA's copies of my statement if I have to. Has anyone else had problems with this?
From ANB's simple application page: 1) I'm at least 18 years old with a valid social security number. 2) Any judgements and liens in my name are discharged. Never filed for bankruptcy. No income verification though.
