I applied for the Citibank USA Visa Signature card (co-branded with Hilton HHonors). The card I was approved for was the Gold HHonors, initial limit set to $7,500. Called, discussed it with some anal rep who told me there's no such thing as upgrading a Gold to a Signature. Asked for a supervisor and got one. He said, of course they allow upgrades. The only requirement for a Signature upgrade is a $10K credit line. He said once my limit reaches that level he'll allow an upgrade. Since asking for an increase means another INQ anyway, I just went online and applied for a 2nd card. (We had someone here recently who accidentally submitted his online app 4 times, and got 4 differnet accounts from them). I'll see how it goes & will post the results. Saar
That's weird. I haven't heard of a 10K minimum for the Citi USA Signature card. I just called Citi USA to ask about this, and the rep says that there is no (10K) minimum for the Signature. My Signature is at 5K. Maybe they changed the application criterion...
Saar, I applied for Citi HHonors Signature Visa card back in March and they approved me for $5000 for Signature Card. I think you should get Visa Signature instead of Gold. You should call back to ask them why you get Gold Card with $7500 instead of Visa Signature Card. Ron.
