    I recently requested a CL increase, and I haven't yet heard back... longed into my account today and it appears as though they have switched my smart card for a Platinum select, but no change in CL. Why would they switch me? Any ideas what this means for a possible CL increase?

    Maybe they're phasing out the smart cards (as they're doing with the Sony cards)?

    "SMART" cards were a good idea that turned out to be "STUPID"

    It is just another GIMMICK

    Have you called to find out why you havent heard back on your CL increase? Depending on how you asked for, they may require proof of income... in which case they probably have a letter on route to you.

    I had to send them my pay stub to get my increase. But at least thats what they said caused my delay (took 4 days).. they approved it the day I faxed it to them.

    Smart Cards may be dying because Providian knocked down my smart card to a Gold card whenever it was time to renew my card.
