Has anyone who formerly had a charged-off account with Citibank received an Approval for their AA Cards?

Just wondering if there is any forgiveness with them.

I have done this three times over, and PsychDoc has done this at least twice over. You may want to search for our user names and Citibank and reconsideration. also for "my citibank miracle" back in March 2001.

I had a citi charge-off in the late early 90's and got apprrove for 2 $10K AA cards. I guess time heal all wounds.

I had a Citi charge-off (which I never paid) from 1996 and was approved last month for the AA Gold for $9k and Platinum Select for $5k.

    DaveLv,

Were your approvals instant or did you have to wait to receive a response in the mail.

Also, did you apply for your platium card at the same time as your first card.

I just applied and don't know what to make of the message which reads "As soon as your application is processed, we'll send the results to the address you submitted on your application".

    Appreciate your feedback.

    Thanks

I have a charge off with Citi. One card was immediately approved and the second was initially declined because of my past charge off in the early 90s. So I sent a letter via planetfeedback and was approved.

    Thanks for the info MikeG.

Was your charge off a "paid" charge off account? Which cards did you receive, Silver,Gold or Platiuim?

    Thank

    To Dave, Marci & gad8:

Did you have any derogs on your reports prior to applying to citi?

I applied first for the Platinum Select and was instantly approved for $5,000. I then applied for the AA World MasterCard (by mistake) and got the wait for the mail answer and then applied for the AA Gold MasterCard and also got the wait for the mail answer.

I then received approval in the mail for the AA Gold for $9,000 (I guess they matched my highest limit -- Providian at $9,149) and also got a letter telling me my application for the World card couldn't be approved because they can only accept two applications within 60 days. I guess I lucked out that they processed the Gold application before the World application.

Big time. A released and an unreleased Tax lien, a $6500 charge-off from MBNA, a repo from Ford Motor Credit (the one and only truly inaccurate item on my reports -- which has since been removed from TU but was there when Citi pulled it), an old Discover account with about a billion late pays from 1997-1999 and a Macy's charge-off.

There hasn't been a tradeline from Citibank for their charge-off since I began looking at my reports last March, but there was a collection tradeline from Gulf State for the account. Lexington got that off on their first or second round of disputes. Later in the year I started getting notices from a place called The Credit Store offering to transfer the charged-off balance to a "Bank of Hoven" credit card. I sent them a validation letter and they wrote me back saying they would take no further collection activity.
