citibank and fleet?

    Just heard through the grapevine that fleet and citi will be merging next year. Can anyone validate this rumor?

    No idea, but I have both as well (fleet sucks though).

    No way. Where did you hear this?.

    That merger would be a catastrophe for Citi.

    It was in BusinessWeek that Citi might be looking to buy Fleet. (Story here ) If that's the case, and Citi brings Fleet up to its current standards, it might not be so bad. Lord knows Fleet can't get any worse.

    If CITIBANK buys FLEET and FLEET goes totally that's OK...BUT if FLEET still has a part in the program that may be a PROBLEM.
