Re: ReThanks, Sam Donna, Tell retention *exactly* what you just told us. That sounded very compelling. You'll get your rate cut. Marci
Re: Thanks, I will Marci, My bill for this month has already posted so I don't owe anything right now. But, come March 30 (which is my next payday) I'm going to pay off the balance. Then, when I'm in a position of not owing anything, I'll call to get the interest lowered. If the initial service rep doesn't give me what I want, I'll ask for retention. I refuse to be penalized for upgrading my account. Donna Donna
Re: Donna.. The initial support person can't help you. here's what you tell the initial person: "I'd like to talk to someone in retention about my account, I am considering TRANSFERRING-OUT my balances to a lower apr card, and would like to see if your company can do anything for me." Those are the EXACT words to use to the initial rep, and then ask politely to the retention person , if they could offer you a better APR rate. Its a game of bluff, i got 5% cut and the retention guy was so nice.
Sam Your advice is well taken. I'm glad to know that strategy worked for you. I'll definitely give it a try. Donna
