I called Citibank retention again today asking about increased credit limits for BTs. I had a $9,000 limit which was raised on their website to $10,500 without an inquiry a couple of weeks ago. First she couldn't find the 4.9% until paid BT they offered me last time but finally found it. Then when I asked for a CL increase to cover $5,500 in BTs without being at 50% utilization she started to ask for my employer. I asked if she was going to pull an inquiry and she said she was. I asked her to do it without one and she said "OK" and gave me an additional $1,500 to $12,000. We were in the middle of doing my BTs on the phone when her computer crashed. She is going to call back in about 10 minutes to complete the process. At that time I will ask her about the second account which was raised about a month or so ago from $5,000 to $6,200 without an inquiry on the website. This brings my two week total of CL increases with no inquiry to $9,050. And that's not even including anything Citi might be willing to do with my second account.

Oops -- spoke too soon. When the rep called me back she no longer had the $1,500 CL increase in her system. We went round and round and she is going to have a supervisor look at it, so it's not a sure thing yet. She did lower the APR on my second card from prime+4.99 to prime+2.9 but she was not able to match the prime+1.9 I have on the first account. I'll post more details when I hear what the supervisor has to say about the credit line increase.
