Just got a letter from Citibank. 2.99% balance transfer until paid off. No balance transfer fee. Anyone got a better offer? I'm tempted to take them up on this offer.

just make sure you don't have a balance on your card, because then your purcahses are "locked." because like any other card, they apply payments to the lowest APR. I am currently having this problem with my card.

NEVER USE A "BT" CARD FOR PURCHASES!!!

I agree with GEORGE!! Never mix purchases with BTs.

Have one or two cards for purchases only and whatever others for BTs. Right now I have 2 for BTs, 2 for purchases, and one just waiting in the wings to see what happens.

I have found that the longer I carry a BT, the more "offers" I get in the mail, by phone, with my bill, whatever. Offers for merchandise or services if they're charged to that card. They get really desperate for you to purchase on your BT card. RESIST!!!

    Ridiculous offers:

4% balance transfer until paid, but only if you purchase each month! I'm not stupid.

I've just started seeing those!! I guess we're too smart for them and they don't like us not paying interest. I saw one where you had to make three purchases every month to keep the BT rate. So--BT at 2.9% or whatever, purchases accruing at 18%????

I hope the "BT Gravy Train" isn't over.

If they want purchses, let em have it. Purchase $1.00 in gas. If they require 3 purchases, that'll be $3.00 in gas. I hope BofA doesn't start with that crap.

    0% for 6 months
    1.99% for 9 months
    3.99% for life of transfer.

I took the 0% cause it's going to be paid off in 3-4 months.

The two "BT until paid" offers I had access to vanished. Do they expire them if you don't use it within a certain period of time?

Yes, normally you need to use them within 30-45 days.
