Question about citibank cards. Have a drivers edge Platinum Card in good standing for many years (5+). Close to CL with good APR balance transfers. Does anyone know if citibank will transfer me to another card (I want UPromise card) or take part of my current credit line for a uPromise CC account. Reason: trying to avoid another hard inquiry on account and keep credit scores heading up. Also, don't really need more credit. ;}
For once with a creditor, the answer is yes and yes. You can convert you Driver's Edge platinum into another card with little to no difficulty. You can also split your credit line although I think you may have to go through the Executive Offices (pfb) to do so. I tried doing this through customer service and they were like "huh". I contacted the Executive Offices and they took care of it in a week.
