Put big charges on it, then make big payments. I get them every 3-4 months.

Interesting note - I have my Mom as AU on this card, and they do report accurately and on time for her - for me, no. The last time they reported for me was Feb. It shows lower CL and higher balance for me.

Hey folks, thanks for this thread. I just got an extra $1500 added to my credit line for a total of $6500. Not bad for a regular old Citi AA card.

Cherie: c2it is an online payment plan that citi promotes. You can link bank accounts and credit cards to it. I use it to withdraw money from my Citi Mastercard, then transfer it to other higher interest rate credit cards to pay those cards down. Since I can't get a BT from them, this is the way around it.

Also, they count it as a purchase, not a cash advance, so I get the lower purchase interest rate.

One warning. Many have posted here that a lot of other credit cards consider a transfer to C2it to be a cash advance, not a purchase, so you could get hit with very high interest rates.

There are no fees form transfers in the US, but they will charge you for transfers to other countries. I see this as a great tool for foriegners working in this country who send money back home. It sure beats the prices charged by the money transmitters.

Also, it takes three or four days for the money to hit your bank account.

Thomas.. let me see if I get this ?

You have a CC that you need to pay for the month.. I assume its ONLY for monthly charges like grocerys or recuring bills. instead of paying the payment with your cash$ ... you request C2it to pay the payment. so you are transfering that $ to citi mastercharge a little at a time.. and there's no cash advance fee or other involved? So what is your interest rate on your Citi...?

Do I have this correct ?

no after reading what I wrote.. this can't be right.. because all you would be doing is going in debt further..

if you owed .. lets say discover 1,000 at 14.99%.. and Citi .. though you had the room would not grant you a BT at 4.9% .. so you pay the 1,000 off with the C2it.. and end up with it at Citi anyway for less than Discovers rate ? Are there montlhy fees or per transaction for this service?

You left out a step - you actually make a payment.
