I have a Citibank Click-Citi card (internet only card) and was wondering...do you think that Citibank will offer us Click-Citi only cardmembers a "real" card soon? I was hoping they would change it to a smart card like Amex Blue.

I was approved for the same thing(Click-Citi card),but I called & told them that I wanted one that I could use anywhere(I retained the same account #,& they sent a Mastercard next day delivery by Airborne).

    Peace,

    RE: no.

The clik product has a lower interest than the plastic models. Don't know why, but if your limit is $1000 or higher, you may ask for a platinum select *17.49% different and poorer benefits. You'll keep the same card # even :)

They may not raise your interest rate if you are an excellent customer!

Mastercard announced that next month it will introduce smart cards like Visa and AMEX. Since Citi has pretty much converted its portfolio from Visa to MC, and since First USA (one of the largest bank card issuers just rolled out smart cards), I would not be surprised if Citi rolls out smart cards soon to compete.
