received an invitation from citibank asking if I would like to upgrade my platinum select card to the diamond preferred card. It says it will keep the same account #. I assume it will keep the same credit limit as well.

Will it be a wise choice to make the move and "upgrade"? Will I benefit from upgrading?
I pay my bill in full everytime so APR and all those numbers don't matter to me.

What are your thoughts on this card, and did anyone upgrade yet?

Upgrade? Read the perks, benefits and cost, it could be a lateral move, or a move up or down. It's an affinity card so everything is different.

If you're looking for a personal opinion, I would keep the PlatSelect and work on the APR and limit.

Yeah, they'll budge, BUT....you'll have to wait another 8 months or so.

They lowered my Citi Dividend Platinum Select from 10.74% to 7.99% fixed plus they give me promo 5.9% until April. I have that card for almost two yrs.

I've trashed hubby's offer to the woodstove.. but if we had accepted. It appeared that the interest rate would go UP from our 3.9 to 10. something

    Read Carefully

Speaking of Citi.. I want our credit lines to increase. His is $6,400 using $5,540. Held since June 01. Mine 3,500.. interest rate 17.15% Zero balance. Held since December of 01. Can anyone offer any advice on getting Citi to raise the limits (without inquiries of course) I read on another board that someone had a 17K balance on a CITI for the 3.9 until paid.

Huh, should we cancel the accounts and then apply for new ones?

For "NEW" customers...I THINK YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FOOL THEM...

You could have boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife apply and make you an AU...THEN YOU GET THE 0.00%

I have no boyfriend.. and hubby and I both have a card. George, do you know what to do to look favorably to citi so that they will raise his limit and extend the 3.9% offer. His debt $5,540/$6400 CL @ 3.9% Mine, 0 debt of a 3,500CL @ 17.15%, after initial 0% for 9 months. His card was issued in June of 01, mine Dec. of 01.

    Thanks,
    Cherie

I'm probably the WRONG person to ask...I had to do BDD (to get the card) +1/2 BDD to get an increase of $3,500 and I asked about a limit increase and was DENIED!!!

I have paid 2-4 payments per month, every month...I even paid the 0.00% BT in full before it expired and did another one and paid it off...DIDN'T HELP ANY FOR A LIMIT INCREASE.

    THEY HATE ME!!!

    BDD $5,000+$5,000
    1/2 BDD $3,500

    NOW PLATINUM SELECT $13,500

At 13,500 I would say they hate you. But thanks anyway.
