I just logged on the account online for my Citibank Dividend Platinum Select. I click on the Credit Line Increase and the screen show:
Congradulations! Your credit line can be immediately increased by $1500 for a total new line of $8000.00.
During the evaluation process, a credit bureau report was not pulled.
Please indicate below whether or not you acceppt this amount , or if you want a lower credit line, call Customer Care at 1-800-9505114.
Thankyou for using our electronic Credit Line Increase request form.
We appreciate the time and effor you invested in this transaction and look forward to serving you.

There is one level where they will not increase anymore. My citi Div is 13.8k for more than a year ago. I have perfect credit, no inquires and scores over 730 and no increases with them.

Citibank increases aren't regular. It may be that you've reached the maximum for income level. If your income has gone up since you applied, you might want to report that. Still, it doesn't seem unusual to go a year without any increases. Three of my Citibank cards had no increases for about that long but a short time later, I received increases totaling 7.5K on them.

Daveberk: Yes, I think that is the reason.

Once you reach your max income level with Citi, that's it. No no more increases, period.

On the other hand MBNA is raising limits out of the stratosphere and literally begging you to run them up.

And then they wonder how come so many people default. :-/

You are right!. Mbna has raises my limit from 8k (Oct2002) to 14.7k Jan03 without even asked.

Marci: Do you have the specific tel number to call MBNA regarding to convert an apple loan to their credit card?

Yeah, I went from $10,500 to $16,700 in two months, without asking.

I tried to search for the phone number, but I can't get the search function to work. The dept. I talked with for this conversion is called "Telesales" and I highly recommend that you speak with a supervisor once you get there. Most reps do not know how to do it, but the process is gold option to gold reserve to credit card, in that order.

The last person to do this successfully was Saar (and incredibly, it took him 5 tries), so you can e-mail him here or post your question at www.creditboards.com so he'll respond.

Otherwise, search here for "marci telesales mbna" and you'll find the number.

    Geo,
Citibank doesn't increase my Sony Card($10,500CL.) and AT&T Universal Card ($10,700 CL)for almost a year. They only increase my Citibank Dividend Platinum Select Cards (one of them converted for Click Citi Platinum Select Card.)

    Marci,

MBNA increased my Quantum Card from $18,600 to $21,000 and Elite Rewards Visa from $8500 to $11,000 without asking.
