I just discovered the Citibank Platinum card for college students through my dad's suggestion. I'm looking for my first credit card and wondered how likely it is I'd be approved. I also can't find their terms for late payments, etc., just in case. Any information would be great...especially how hard it is to get. Thanks

    Annual Percentage Rates
Introductory rate of 9.9% for 6 months from
account open date on purchases, cash
    advances, and balance transfers. Thereafter,
for purchases and balance transfers, 17.49%,
and for cash advances 19.99%. If you default
under any Citi Card Agreement: Up to 24.99%.
    Variable Rate Information
After the introductory period stated above, the
annual percentage rate for purchases and
balance transfers may vary monthly. We will
calculate the rate by adding 9.99% to the U.S.
Prime Rate published in The Wall Street
Journal on the last business day of each
month. In addition, the annual percentage rate
for purchases, balance transfers, and cash
advances may also vary if you default under
any Citi Card Agreement because you fail to
make a payment to us or any other creditor
when due, you exceed your credit line, or you
make a payment to us that is not honored by
your bank. In such circumstances, we may
increase the rate (including any introductory or
promotional rate) on all balances to a default
rate of up to 24.99%. Factors considered in
determining this higher rate may include the
length of time the account has been open, the
existence, seriousness, and timing of Citi Card
Agreement defaults, and other indications of
    account usage and performance.
Grace Period for Repayment of Balance
    for Purchases
20-25 days if you pay your balance in full by
the due date, but none on any balance
    transfers.
Method of Computing the Balance for
    Purchases

    purchases)
    Annual Fee

    50 cents
    Transaction Fee for Cash Advances
3.0% of the amount of each cash advance, but
    not less than $5.
    Transaction Fee for Balance Transfers
3.0% of the amount of each balance transfer,
but not less than $5 or more than $50.

September 1, 2001 and continuing thereafter:

my girlfriend applied 4 weeks ago for this and has heard nothing yet...how slow can you be. She applied for Bank of America and Amex Blue for student and got approved. A few months ago capone turned her down. She had nothing on her credit report at all before these. Amex blue for students seems to have pretty good perks...
