Hello, I just applied online for the AA card, hoping to do the "trick" people here have been successful with, but at the end of the app, I didn't get an instant approval--this is the message I received: As soon as your application is processed, we'll send the results to the address you submitted on your application. Does that mean bad news? I really don't want any AA cards, I wanted a no annual fee platinum select, but was trying to combine two cards like people here suggested! Should I apply for the Gold AA card now even though I didn't get an instant approval for the silver?? Thanks!
I don't have an answer for you, but I just sat down to apply for the Silver AA myself and will do that in a few minutes. Do you know what your scores are?
I received that message 6 times, and got 6 AA cards. It means you don't get instant approval, however someone will manually review your schtuff and call them up in about a week and check your status..
Hello, it may of just been a glitch in their auto response system. I got approved with basically the same score as yours. I know the waiting game is difficult but you might want to wait for the "snail mail" response before proceeding to the gold. Also, you can wait a few days and call the 800 number. Iv
What is the 800 number? Also, I just applied like 1/2 hr ago online, and received that message...should I apply again for the Gold AA? Will they pull 2 inquries on me if they both need manual review? Also, I DONT want these AA cards, I just want to use them to combine to a no annual fee plat. select. IF/WHEN I receive these cards, will they show on my credit report even if I don't activate them? What do I tell the CS rep when I call and tell them I don't want either of the cards I just applied for? Sorry for all the questions--thanks.

I went ahead and did them both. Got the same result - we will notify you by mail. I suspect they want some address confirmation. Last time I applied for Citi, they checked Experian. My score there is 655, but it does not reflect the recent $7500 payment I made on my Citi card. I have a good history with them, so am hopeful.
I did my applications online about a month apart. They declined the first one but I got it through reconsideration. I just received the denial letter for the second application. They did not pull another inquiry even though on the applicatin screen I put that I did not have an account with them.
"BACK DOOR DOUBLE" I was refused a PLATINUM SELECT card MANY, MANY, times...(even "PRE-APPROVED")... I applied for AASILVER and AAGOLD...approved both (INSTANT~ONE INQUIRY)...traded for PLATINUM SELECT. SO I HAVE WHAT I WAS DENIED MANY, MANY TIMES (BY GOING THROUGH THE BACK DOOR...THE FRONT DOOR WAS WELDED SHUT).
