They told me that same crap too. Don't believe it! Call and ask to speak to retention. Tell them that implicit in Citi's advertising for the card is the option to BT. I did this and got a BT rate of 4.9% for the life of the card.

    George,

They mailed me BT offer for both of my Citibank Cards. One is 4.9% BT for Sony Cards and the other one is 6.9% BT for Dividend Cards until paid in full.

George, you need to be a little less sarcastic, and a little more assertive in your writing style, to get what you want. No need to complain to us, if above is what your wrote to citibank then I don't blame them for not giving you the BT rate..

The customer service department doesn't get a cookie for letting you speak with "R".

    EXCUSE ME...........

If you don't keep people informed about what COULD happen to them, they won't know what to expect!!!

I have called RETENTION before on cards..."I am concidering closing my account because the terms are no longer good enough"........."OK IT'S CLOSED"..."BYE"....CLICK....DIAL TONE!!!

When I asked to speak to retention, I was told my account did not "Qualify" to be transferred to retention.

PFB works with citi just like everywhere else, their executive team members will contact you.

Btw, if you ASK for a BT , they will pull a hardon.. Hell i've had them pull a hardon when I accepted their online BT's that were offered to me..

Not asking for an increase in the credit limit...so I don't need a "HARDON".

Did you respond through citi's website or PFB? The good thing about PFB is that it reaches their executive offices, and is usually handled better. Who knows who got your comments on the website? probably some online liaison who could get away with sending you that "thanks, we'll try better next time"
