Citibank is a JOKE!

If Equifax FICO is relevant, then TU FICO is relevant as well. Reason? The data could be different. If a lender pulls TU, they could see the same model applied to a different set of data, and consequently a different score.

You're correct in indicating that the TU FICO is relevant, but it's a separately ordered product vs. their "normal" report that includes their native FAKO.

Now THAT's funny. I needed a laugh.....I was licking my wounds from citi doing the SAME thing to me weather. (don't know if you saw my big long rant!) Sooo disappointing. Did you have any luck with pfb or did you just decide to tell them to take a hike?

Amy, no I didn't, I am going to go look for it now. I told them to take a hike. I decided to put my two shiny new cards on the copy machine and make a copy. I just faxed it to Citibank with my reference number on it. I thought it was funny! :)

There is most definitely a Citibank blacklist.

Why some accounts are put on it and other are not, I don't know. I suspect that all of the past Citi mergers have left behind some of the damaging history when databases were not fully consolidated.Others were from long ago before they really had a blacklist going.

I paid a charge off in 1997 and I am STILL on Citi's blacklist (I get auto-denied when applying for a card). But with that said, I am on card #5 from Citi since the paid CO, because I asked for reconsideration on the denials.

    Where there's a will, there's a way...

    Thanks, Marci.

As a follow-up, one CNetter indicated a few weeks ago that he/she was receiving pre-approvals from Citi, and that meant that they were not on a Citi blacklist. I have never been of the understanding that there was a pre-screening process that matched invitations to apply against their blacklist prior to mailing.

    Any thoughts?

Based on my personal experience, that would make sense. My daughter and I generally receive similar credit card offers, except when it came to Citbank. She receives numerous offers. Both our credit scores are in the mid 700's. This lead me to believe that I maybe truly blacklisted!

I wouldn't think that mass pre-approvals wuld be pre-screened against a blacklist, but I don't know. I've noticed that my parents, who have Citi cards, get huge BT offers all the time from them. In the three years that I've had their card(s), I have yet to get one.

If I were forced to guess, I'd say that there may be an initial blacklist screening based on name and address since they don't yet have the target's SS#. The second screening could occur after the app is received by Citi (SS# vs. blacklist). Just speculation. To quote Shakespeare: "dunno"
