me 2 I also have CreditWatch and still have inquiries on Eq from 5/01. I am in your club 2 George...I wish I could get tossed out -Peace, Dave
I actually had gone to their site earlier today and I got the same thing. The form--which I take to mean a hard inq is going to take place if filled out.
If you get the form it means your credit seems to be ok judging from the last AR INQ, but your income (as they have it on file) is not high enough compared to your existing credit lines. A Citi rep once told me it's a good idea to let them know whenever your income increases, so their pre-approval algorithms can take it into account. Saar
GEORGE - As Quixote suggested a few weeks ago - I think it might be useful to use the term UGYF (Unless You're George Factor) to describe actions of cc companies that don't seem to make sense (i.e. ridulously low credit limits, no cl increases for years etc.) FOR EXAMPLE: "I've had my Prefered Platinum Prestige (PPP) card for over two years - and while all my other cards have given me increases every six months - my PPP hasn't offered me anything yet, Guess it must be UGYF" Yours (fondly), Mark LA
Saar, can I take what you posted to mean that they WON'T pull a hard inq (their regular AR covers it), but that they're just mainly asking for info re my current income?
No. If there's a form to fill, there's a report to pull. But if you call and let them know your (higher) income, you may be pre-approved for an increase later on. Saar
I tried it (give updated income)...DIDN'T WORK...they said if you fill in the form...or tell the CSR...a limit increase request will be done and a credit report pulled...
Since the one who told me so was a Retention Agent, I have reason to believe he knew what he was talking about. Saar
has citibank stopped giving automatic increases without you asking or requesting through the website?
George, Last time I filled out the form for limit increase and they pulled hard inquiry from my TransUnion report. They denied me because too many inquiries. Ron.
I think what Saar is saying is that you call to updatee your income with them, but do NOT ask for a limit increase at this time. Then you wait a bit (1 billing cycle maybe?), then see if you are approved for an increase without an inquiry. Is this what you are saying Saar?
I tried that...they said they CAN'T take the updated INCOME information with-out processing a limit increase request (and a report will be pulled)... THAT IS WHAT I WAS TOLD...
