With everyone's Citibank luck, I applied online. Well, I got the old.....We are processing, let U know. Well, yesterday I received a wonderful rejection. Too many open credit lines, income stated does not meet our criteria for card issuance. They used Experian. I have about 1.8X my income in open revolving credit. The did not seem to care I only had a 20% utilization. What is the definition of too many lines? Also, what should the ratio of income to available credit be? H
JUST FOR REFERENCE... When I had almost $200,000 credit limits (not including mortgage)...I made <$35,000!!!
Re: Citibank: No CC 4U, UR Tapped o Guess what, Big H... You're not done! I was similarly rejected TWICE. Your next step is to follow these two steps: 1) Search this board (search function below) with the terms "Citibank reconsideration" (without the quotation marks, of course). You'll see 29 or 30 threads -- spend a leisurely half hour or so reading through them, and you'll be prepared for step 2... 2) Request reconsideration by calling this number: 1-301-733-5501. You still have a good chance at this. Doc
The high interest one, Illumina. I thought they would be more generous with their higher interest product. Wanted a foot in the door, but got it elsewhere (ya know what I mean?) H
Ooooooooooh you should have tried for the AA Advantage silver. That is the one everyone starts with. Airline cards are easy to get right now, anyway.
I noticed when I applied for my cards that the terms quoted on Citi's website are their highest possible rates. They then review your personal situation and may issue a lower rate at their discression. For example, I applied and was approved online for the Platinum Select card. The rate in the disclosures on their website right now for this card is 17.99%. Mine was issued at 11.49%.
